March Favourites!

It's that time again, the end of the month, which means round-up time! I've been loving so many bits this month that it was a struggle to narrow down my favourites to just a few things. So bear with me here...there's seven.

First up, these face masks by H&M. I've been trying to establish a skincare routine that works for me, and think I've just about managed it. Part of it, is doing a facemask once a week. Now I love my charcoal and clay masks as much as the next person, but sometimes it's nice to switch it up with something that smells a bit sweeter and looks a bit more appealing (well, as appealing as facemasks can be). I'm always unsure when trying a highstreet fashion store's own beauty range, but I was bought some H&M masks at Christmas and they surprised me. They do the job, smell amazing and at 99p a pop, are great value for money!

Next up, the new No7 Pop & Glow cream blush. I picked up the shade 'Mango Sorbet' and I wasn't dissappointed. It gives a healthy glow and I think this would look gorgeous with a bit of a tan. Being in a stick the application is super easy and mess free, and the creamy formula is buildable without going cakey. Perfect. I've used this literally every day this month!

I've been trying to mix up my make-up lately and get some use of the products I've been neglecting. I got this Illamasqua Medium Pencil in the shade Elate in a Glossy Box last year some time and decided to give it a whirl, applying it in the corners of my eyes and along my lower waterline which really helps to open up the eyes.

Bikini so Teeny by Essie is a 'cornflower blue' with specks of shimmer running through. I've recently re-kindled my love for it and have been wearing it non-stop. Most nail varnishes chip pretty quickly on me, as I'm typing all day at work, but Essie varnishes wear really well on me, lasting a week or so at a time. This shade is bright and vibrant, ideal for Spring.

 Now I have the bad habit of washing my hair everyday even though it's  really bad for your hair as it strips all of the natural oils, and actually ends up making your hair greasier. So I've been trying to train my hair to be washed just a few times a week rather than every single morning. I've been using the TRESemmé Instant Refresh dry shampoo every other day (the day after washing) and it's been working wonders. It keeps my hair from looking greasy and actually makes my hair look fuller than usual!

If any of you bought the latest issue of Glamour magazine you will probably recognise this next product by Model Co. Their black eye liner is incedible. It glides on effortlessly and blends like a dream, thanks to it's shea butter formula. It's also highly pigmented so one slick will do the job. It also comes with a built in sharpener which is so handy as I can never find my eye-pencil sharpener when I need it!

Lastly, the Sexy Mother Pucker - XL Extreme Plump by Soap and Glory. Now, I'm not usually a lipgloss kind of gal but it's hard not to love this. As it's a lip plumping gloss, it tingles like mad for the first five minutes (and even makes my tounge feel a bit numb) but the feeling fades fast and leaves you with full lips with a sleek shine. Also, unlike most lipglosses, it doesn't leave you with ridiculously sticky lips. Hurrah!

Skin Saviours - LUSH Tea Tree Water & Grease Lightning

Now, everyone and their Nan have been going mad for these two products lately, and I have to say I'm firmly on the bandwagon! I have combination skin, with an annoyingly oily T-Zone and LUSH's Tree Tea Toner Water and Grease Lightning Spot Treatment have been working absolute wonders for my poor ol' skin.

I purchased the Tea Tree Water a year or so ago and wasn't all that fussed by it so didn't end up re-purchasing. Last month I ventured into LUSH and decided to give it another ago, and boy am I glad I did! Tea Tree is antibacterial & antiseptic therefore killing bacteria and preventing any unwanted breakouts. Hallelujah! Not only that but the Grapefruit element is rich in vitamins, meaning only good things for your skin! I've been using this for the past month, spritzing my face before applying makeup and again at night after cleansing, and can honestly say, I've seen a huge difference in my skin and it has really prevented my dreaded breakouts. One quick spray and my skin feels refreshed and energized.

While in LUSH this Grease Lightning spot gel caught my eye and after the sales assistant told me a little about it, I was sold. The gel is made of Tea Tree and Witch Hazel, which are notorious for fighting spots, but also includes Seaweed and Aloe Vera to clear and calm aggravated skin. I put this on any blemishes (or potential blemishes) I have before bed and by the morning they have calmed down a considerable amount.

Seeing as Mother's Day is just around the corner, I thought I'd do a little round up of gift ideas! Whether you're on a budget or feeling flush, there really is something for everyone.

I absolutely love this cake stand from Oliver Bonas, and although we'd probably never use it for cakes (cake doesn't hang around long in our house!), I think it'd be a great decoration to store smelly goods, like bath bombs, or even jewellery at the top! 
Which brings me on to the Bunny ring dish from Gifts & Pieces. So sweet and also so handy! My Mum is forever taking her rings off and forgetting where she's put them, so this would be useful and pretty. I think I might even treat myself to this soon. 
While browsing Gifts & Pieces, I came across this dotty teacup and fell in love. The perfect size for a nice cup of tea, or even as a make-up brush holder! 
This pink, metallic trinket box from good old Marks and Spencer is perfect to sit on a dressing table and hold odd bits like hair grips and earrings. 
Lastly, you can't go wrong with perfume, and certainly not a Daisy perfume by Marc Jacobs. I love all of the Daisy scents (Daisy Eau So Fresh being my absolute favourite), and this Daisy Delight smells amazing. And honestly, I'm just a sucker for the packaging!

If all else fails I'm sure a bunch of flowers and a home-cooked meal will be appreciated just as much as anything else!

Her and her polka dot dress...

Saturday was another sunny Spring day and so off we went for a nice pub lunch (and a tipple or two). It was the perfect opportunity to ditch the tights (excuse my slightly bruised legs, clumsy is my middle name!) and wear my new dress from Everours. Now, this dress had me at 'Hello'. I mean not only does it have a beautiful collar ,which looking through my wardrobe is practically a must, but polka dots too?! I was sold!

Being quite tall at around 5"8, I tend to struggle to find dresses that are the perfect length, but this has it covered (literally). I also love the way it nips in, accentuating my waist and skimming over the rest. Perfect after my pub lunch! 

While eyeing up this dress before buying, I thought it'd go perfectly with these burgundy coloured, patent t-bar shoes from Topshop. These shoes are super cute, and I wear them to death! I'm even contemplating getting a similar black pair here. Once I got past feeling like my five year old self, I fell in love. Even if I do need plasters every time I wear them!

Nars 'Orgasm' Blush Dupe

My favourite blush of all time is , you guessed it, Orgasm by Nars. The shade is described as a 'peachy pink with shimmer' and that is exactly what you get. It's perfect for the Spring and Summer and always gives a healthy glow to my, usually pale, complexion.

The other month, I stumbled across the Dainty Doll make-up collection by Nicola Roberts, especially designed for pale skinned gals, and decided to give it a whirl. I chose 004, a peachy, pink shade with a shimmer (what a surprise!) and I'm so glad I did! As soon as I tried it out, I realised it's almost a perfect dupe for my trusty Orgasm and at a fraction of the price.

While the Nars blush is super buildable, the Dainty Doll is so pigmented you literally need a quick swirl and tap and you're left with the perfect amount with no need to build. Dainty Doll 1 - Nars 0. Although, the Nars blush stays in place all day, with no need to touch up, the Dainty Doll blush seems to disappear by lunchtime. Dainty Doll 1 - Nars 1. Both blushers are smooth to apply and easy to blend, and don't leave you with a dreaded cake-face.

If you feel like splurging, then go for the Nars and if you're on a budget go with the Dainty Doll. And atleast with the Dainty Doll you won't have to awkwardly ask the Make-up Consultant for an Orgasm..

The weather this weekend was beautiful so I ventured outside for a nice Sunday stroll in the woods. I even braved it without my trusty leather jacket (hurrah!). I always forget how much I miss the sunshine until it starts making an appearance, and then I, like most British people, want to spend every second in the sun, soaking it up.

 

I decided on this little floral smock from H&M, which is perfect all year round, teamed with tights or braving the bare legs. I wasn't quite gutsy enough to leave off the tights this time! I love the ditsy white flower print against the black background as it's super feminine, and being monochrome, easy to wear! I love the fit of smock dresses lately, as they're loose and comfy while still being flattering. 

 I teamed it with my trusty Office boots and I was good to go! 

I love this lion door-knocker style necklace from Everours as you can pretty much wear it with anything. I'm a big fan of chunky, gold jewelry as it can be worn to jazz up any outfit.

 

My favourite thing about this outfit is this bright coral satchel with gold detailing, which at £6 from Primark is an absolute steal! The size of this bag is the perfect size for essentials, and the front pouch is the perfect size to pop your phone in while out and about. This satchel gives the outfit an extra pop of colour, perfect for Spring!
